Back in late 2019 Bill Macom, co-owner of L & M Landshaping, reached out to me about redesigning their existing website for their landscaping supply company. They wanted a more modern look and feel and better control over the ownership of their domain, and website.

I met with Bill at their business to discuss what they were wanting the site to accomplish for them and other details related to the domain and hosting. We came to an agreement for the direction of the site.

The first thing I did was to transfer their domain from Network Solutions to Namecheap.com, as this reduced their domain cost by one-third and keeps it under their control. Next, I mocked up and designed a web ready logo.

I then put together a mock-up of the new site design roughly based off of the existing site, but incorporating a more modern design, layouts and incorporating conversion strategies.

A basic amount of content was copied from the existing website, but I improved it and made sure it was appropriate for visitors and the search engines (on-page SEO).

Of course, the website is viewable on all mobile devices to meet Google’s mobile first standard.

Once the site was ready to launch, I made sure to cancel the existing provider’s service and then point the DNS (Domain Name Servers) over to the new hosting so it would display live on the internet.

After the site was live, I moved the management of L & M’s Google Business Profile and then optimized it for the surrounding areas they serve to drive more local visitors to their website and bring in more business.

By June of 2020, the website traffic was up +200% and they were getting more calls from their Google Business Profile.

Overall, Bill was very satisfied with the new design of his website and the steady increase of traffic and calls.
